![]() ![]() * By a week after launch, most mines will be covered in turrets, because players can build right next to them. Nearly everyone I've gotten interested in this game has left due to a lack of organic open-world pvp. The map is also 2x the size of your standard Rust map, with 1/3 the pop. And once you've progressed in your tools and talents, you'll get so much material from a single mine run that you barely ever need to go. When you do go out to get talent books or hit mines, you'll be in and out so fast that there's no time for organic open world PvP interactions. * Most of your play session revolves around your base, be it farming Ether Shards, Blueprints, Oil, or Explosives - you'll spend most of your time at home. And neither of these things will be intercepted by your turrets. Then they will place tamed rocket NPCs, who fire free ammo. Sounds interesting, right? But if the raiders simply set up devastator turrets of their own on the edge of your claim, they will completely shut your ability to defend by 1-shoting you whenever you peak. ![]() Plus, there's the cost of defensive and offensive ammo to consider. And there's meant to be counter play there for the defender. * All raiding is based around turrets - they can shoot down most raiding projectiles, so raiders have to play intelligently to work around this, either draining turrets, approaching with smokes, etc. ![]() ![]() And once you understand how important progression is in this game (it has HUGE effects on your harvest rate and combat ability), you'll know how broken this truly is. This one simple trick means what should take you at least several days of hard grinding can be done in a matter of hours. Here's a selection off the top of my head: I know the absolute fastest ways to level, how much damage every weapon and vehicle deals to various targets, all the raid mechanics, etc.īut unfortunately, right now I have to put the game down and ask you not to give the devs your money - force them to instead confront the rampant balance issues and glitches that are keeping this game from being great. I've tested and mathed a lot of stuff, and could probably answer any question you have about the game in its current state. I've played 440 hours now with a revolving selection of teammates across 9 different NA PvP fresh wipes. I really, really wanted to like this game. ![]()
